Tororo district local government financial managers are in Mityana district on a study tour to bench mark on how best the district can improve its revenue base.
The acting district information officer Jackson Osudo says the team including members of the district finance committee, sub county chiefs and sub accountants are exploring available options to help the district improve its local revenue collection.
He says upon realization of the decline in revenue collection and its impact on service delivery, the district finance committee recommended the tour. Osudo revealed that last year, the district Managed to only realize 600 million shillings out of the projected 1.9 billion shillings.
He hopes that after the tour, the finance managers will come up with proposals that will help the district improve revenue collection and subsequently service delivery to the people.
