The former LCIII chairperson of Osukuru Sub County Gerald Omaset has warned Uganda’s ambassador to Kenya Phoebe Awere Otalla to stop wasting time campaigning in Tororo County ahead of 2021 general elections.
Omaset says that the people of Tororo County won’t support anybody in politics unless Tororo district is divided. Omaset was speaking in Akworot village in Mukuju Sub County during the burial of the son and nephew of Thomas Emurukut the chairperson of Tororo bodaboda association who died in a motor accident. The former LCIII chairman challenged the mourners and all people of Tororo County not to entertain politicians who have been against the division of Tororo district.
Earlier in her speech Otalla, Uganda’s ambassador to Kenya told mourners that she was disheartened for the people in terms of development and promised to ensure that Tororo County is not left behind as far as development is concerned. Otalla has in recent times been a regular at funerals in Tororo county appealing for support for the position of Woman MP for Tororo district in 2021.
Meanwhile the prime minister of Iteso Cultural Union Paul Sande Emolot applauded the people Teso for the good gesture of unity both at good and bad times. Ekirigi Emolot said unity is a strong weapon that the population can use to cause any kind of change they desire.
