Hundreds of Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) Project affected persons today stormed Tororo district SGR operational office over failed compensation by the project
The PAPS living in areas of Tororo municipality have been waiting for compensation since 2015 when they were told to leave the land by the SGR officers expecting compensation to help them relocate but to date nothing has been done.
Residents have since then not carried out any long term development on their land for fear of dismissal incase the project kicked off.
The PAPS Municipality Youth Chairman Andrew Olupot said they will seek audience with the president to help them settle the problem.
Without disclosing the date the SGR Project Manager Tororo Etudi Nathan promised the affected persons of that they will be paid as soon as the money is available.
