Paya Senior Secondary School, the only government aided Secondary school in Paya Sub County Tororo district is poised to register improvement in academic performance following the recruitment of more teachers.
Last year, our reporter visited the school and discovered that there were no teachers for Sciences and English, a situation that could have contributed to last year’s poor performance in UCE.
Speaking to our reporter at the School over the weekend, the current Head Teacher David Osinde Waketh said the hard to reach School now has enough self motivated teachers to cater for all the subjects and transform the learners.
Osinde said hewas impressed with the Parents’ effort of having him back to the school he founded in 1998 and left in 2006 with a record of good performance.
The School has so far registered 210 students up from 46 who enrolled last year an achievement that the School Administrators treat as a good response from the parents.
The school former Head Teacher Andrew Mwambu was transferred as a result of pressure from PTA and School Management Committee who accused him of mismanagement of funds and poor Administration.
