The Tororo Municipal Education officer Teddy Makola has today credited the Tororo Municipal primary schools for exhibiting high level of discipline during national exams that has seen no results from the Municipality with held by UNEB.
Makola was addressing stakeholders and pupils at Shalom primary school while presiding over a thanks giving and awarding of certificates ceremony to pupils who excelled in the recently released PLE.
The guest of honour and pastor of deliverance church Tororo Philemon Ongole asked teachers to not only focus on academics but also nurture social, spiritual and moral values in children.
He also urged teachers to be mentors and not tormentors since the children look unto them for a future.
Meanwhile the director of shalom primary school Mukulo George attributed the high failing rate in Tororo district to lack of teaching and supervision in the schools adding that neglect by the teachers results to failures.
Shalom Primary School was one of the schools in Tororo that registered good performance in last year’s PLE.
