Farmers in Morikatipe, Osukuru Sub County are reaping millions of shilling from modern crop farming courtesy of Sasakawa global 2000 an organization that has been at the forefront of training farmers on improved farming skills.
In a two day evaluations exercise in Tororo, Sasakawa officials were moved by the testimonies from the farmers on how their harvest has improved after they implemented skills acquired from Sasakawa trainings
Morikatipe development group Chairperson Amoit Grace said that after implementing the new farming skills last season they were able to harvest 100 bags of gnuts, 90 bags of rice and 25 bag of soya. They were also able to save some money and bought a Fuso lorry.
In appreciating the farmer’s project the organization awarded the group two spray pumps and one carton of taplins to help them fight the pest and crop diseases
While handing over farm equipments to Morikatipe development group the program manger Sasakawa Rosette Kemigisha advised the farmers on proper storage of harvests.
