Hajji Bulu Katale, the former deputy chief of Buddu County, has been remanded to Masaka Central Prison over alleged shady land transactions.
Katale was arrested last week over alleged sale of 10 acres of Government land located in Bukakata, near Bukakata Sub County headquarters in Masaka district.
Katale reportedly sold the land to Richard Kimera, a Masaka district councillor representing Bukakata Sub County.
This land is also at the centre of a dispute between the Central Government and Buganda Kingdom. Katale reportedly used his position as Buganda Kingdom representative and sold the land to Kimera yet there was a caveat placed on it.
Katale is also accused of forging a title for the same piece of land before selling the land to Kimera.
Today, Katale appeared before Samuel Munobe, the Masaka Chief Magistrate who remanded him after failing to raise one million shillings to secure his bail.
