West Budama North Councilors have dismissed claims by their area MP Othieno Okoth that he has persuaded them to back for council sessions.

Yesterday during the Tororo district roads committee review meeting held at the district Chambers, Othieno Okoth, the West Budama North Member of Parliament said he was in talks with a section of councilors from his constituency to convince them to resume council business.

Today, our reporter interviewed some of the councilors who detached themselves from the said consultation

However, woman councilor of Iyolwa and Magola in Budama South Betty Sheria Andera said their counterparts in North constituency can never come back to council unless it’s a resolution by the West Budama caucus.

The yesterday roads committee meeting which saw the warring legislators who could not meet met yesterday eye to eye for the first time since they got involved in uncalled fights ever since Rubongi Sub County was illegally attempted to be smuggled into the municipality.

Only MP Yeri Apollo Ofwono and Annet Nyaketcho Tororo municipality and Tororo county North respectively didn’t attend the meeting at Tororo district chambers.

One Thought to “Budama councilors dismiss MP’s claim, vow not to return to council.”
