Police has recovered the body of another young woman believed to have been murdered in Katabi Town Council in Entebbe Municipality. The deceased is Harriet Nantongo, a resident Kabale A in Katabi Town Council.
Her decomposing body was found in an isolated area this morning, six days since she was reported missing. The police spokesperson, Asan Kasingye confirmed the recovery of Nantongo’s body.
“Yes, we have a body of Harriet Nantongo, the wife of Noah Musumba,” Kasingye told Uganda Radio Network. Scene of crime officers have already visited the scene to collect evidence.
A source that has been at the scene told Uganda Radio Network that there were signs of sexual assault but said there was need for postmortem to confirm.
“We suspect that she was murdered in the same style as the other women. Right now we cannot tell when she was murdered until we get the postmortem report,” the source told URN on condition of anonymity.
The murder of Nantongo brings to 14, the number of women killed in Entebbe in the last three months. 12 of the women have been confirmed to have been sexually assaulted before they were killed in a similar manner.
